It has a long and rich history dating back to the early 1860s when the predominantly fruit-growing pioneers of the local rural district were concerned with providing for the educational needs of their children. In fact, our first swimming pool was built and donated by one such family.

The generosity of the local community was again evident 130 years later, when the first of our computers was donated by Westfield Shopping Centre. In 2003 we celebrated 140 years of quality education with a "Community Birthday Party", including fireworks.
The school sits on the same 2.63 hectare (6.5 acre) site, but with modernised facilities including:
• A 100 seat fully equipped theatre "The Playhouse"
• An amphitheatre
• Full-sized gymnasium/basketball stadium
• Extensive sun-shaded grounds, including ovals, basketball courts, asphalted undercover play areas, sand pits, cubbies and adventure playgrounds
• An "EnviroCentre"
• A fully networked Computer System
Construction of a new Library/Resource Centre, Administration and Staff Centre, together with new classrooms in Stage 1, six new classrooms in Stage 2 and three further classrooms in Stage 3, completed this year.
