Warm up your singing voices and prepare to celebrate the festive season with a night of carols and traditional songs at Glen Eira City Council’s Carols by Candlelight at Caulfield Racecourse.

Renowned musician and television personality Frankie J. Holden returns to host this year’s event, to be held on Sunday 17 December.

The concert will showcase a combination of local and well-known performers, including Rhonda Burchmore and Heart n Soul.

Local groups will have a substantial presence at the concert, with the Glen Eira City Band and Murrumbeena Baptist Church providing entertainment.

McKinnon Secondary College Senior Singers and Young Voices of Melbourne will also join in the celebrations and keep the audience entertained.

Glen Eira Mayor Cr David Feldman said Carols by Candlelight is an important event which celebrates the cultural diversity of the City.

"The festive season means something different to everyone, but it is a chance for all of us to come together as a community and celebrate," Cr Feldman said.

"Carols by Candlelight is a fun, family event which embraces the uniqueness of our City."

Carols by Candlelight will run from 6.30pm to 10pm on Sunday 17 December. Residents are encouraged to get into the festive spirit by packing a picnic and bringing a rug. Undercover seating is available in the Terrace Whittier stand.
